These tips are here to help make any room in your home feel like a fresh, happy place for you and your loved ones. We’ll also show you how to keep your home smelling fresh!

Whether it’s cooking fat, leftover food or the washing machine, it’s quite normal for your house or apartment to smell unpleasant from time to time.

Nevertheless, the various scents can be annoying in the long term – especially if you are sensitive to odors or have visitors at home.

We’ll tell you some simple tricks that you can use to create a pleasant scent and get rid of unpleasant odors in no time at all.

For a good scent in the closet

To keep your clothes smelling good even days after washing, you don’t have to resort to expensive scented pads or room sprays. You can also ensure long-lasting freshness with a conventional panty liner from the drugstore and an essential oil.

And this is how it works

Simply take a panty liner and cut it up. Then drizzle a few drops of the essential oil onto the absorbent side. Now remove the plastic strip on the underside and stick the home-made scented cushion wherever you like. The inside or back of the closet, drawers and chests of drawers are particularly suitable for this.

More freshness in the bathroom

You will also need an essential oil for the following two tips. You can find suitable products in any drugstore, specialist shop or on Amazon.

Trick 1

Simply drizzle a few drops of the liquid onto the inside of the toilet roll. The cardboard absorbs the oil, releasing the fragrance through the friction of rolling. If the fragrance fades, you can restore a pleasant freshness to your bathroom in just a few seconds.

This trick is particularly suitable for households that have little storage space in the bathroom and no room for a fragrance dispenser.

Trick 2

Take a conventional wooden clothespin and put a few drops of essential oil on it. Now pin it to your shower curtain, shower wall or shampoo holder. As soon as the humidity rises in the shower, the scent of the oil will spread through the bathroom.

Particularly practical: you can sprinkle the clip with new oil as often as you like.

Fresh smell in the kitchen

If your kitchen smells of garbage or spoiled leftovers from time to time, you can use essential oils and a piece of absorbent cotton or a cotton pad to remedy the situation.

Drizzle a few drops of oil onto a piece of absorbent cotton about 3 to 5 cm in size and place it at the bottom of a new bin liner. The waste should still give off the scent of the oil after a few days.

Good scent in other rooms

Alternatively, you can make your own room fragrance in just a few simple steps.

Fill the container about 80 percent full with distilled water. Fill the rest with conventional vodka and add three to five drops of essential oil. Stir the ingredients together and then add the wooden sticks.
