There’s nothing more satisfying than a tidy bedroom and clean, fresh-smelling sheets, is there? We all know how tricky it can be to keep your sheets white and stain-free, don’t we? Over time, your bed linen can sometimes turn a little yellow, particularly from perspiration. To get your sheets back to their original white glory, lots of people use strong chemicals to get rid of stains and make the linen white again, like bleach.

Bleach is a great way to get your sheets white again, but it can be harsh on fabrics and skin, and it doesn’t help the environment.

We’re sure you’ll be as surprised as we were to hear that you can replace these chemical solutions with a simple, natural and inexpensive product that you already have in your kitchen!Lemon juice is a kitchen staple that can do wonders for your laundry and other household chores. It’s a natural whitener and stain remover, so you can say goodbye to bleach and vinegar! This lovely citrus fruit is packed with natural cleaning power thanks to its citric acid. The lovely citric acid in lemon juice is a gentle bleaching agent that’s strong enough to dissolve stains, degrease, deodorise and bring back the shine to your textiles.

Lemon juice is a great natural alternative to harsh chemicals.

It’s kind to your clothes and doesn’t damage the fibres. And it’s kind to the environment, and completely safe for you and your little ones! And there’s more! Its lovely fragrance adds a touch of freshness to your laundry, making it a safe, environmentally-friendly cleaning solution.

I’ve got two lovely ways to show you how to bleach your sheets with lemon. The first method is really simple, so don’t worry! If you’re struggling with stubborn stains, don’t fret! Just add lemon juice to your usual washing powder and watch the magic happen. Just a quarter of a cup is all you need to get rid of those pesky stains!
Another great way to use lemon to brighten your sheets is to squeeze the juice from a few lemons (around 2 or 3) and dilute it in a litre of hot water. Just soak your sheets in this lovely solution for about an hour before washing them as usual. I’m sure you’ll be amazed at the result! Your sheets will be sparkling white again in no time.

If you’re struggling with a stubborn stain, don’t fret! Simply squeeze a fresh lemon and apply the juice directly to the stain. Just leave it on for around 15 minutes, then rub gently before rinsing with warm water. And then you can just pop them in the washing machine! If you’re struggling with a particularly stubborn stain, try combining lemon juice with bicarbonate of soda. This lovely natural paste is great for getting out stains without damaging your lovely textiles.
