After you have figured out when it is better to dig potatoes this year, it is important to know by what signs you can determine that the root vegetable is ready to appear in the world, and how to get it out of the earth’s bowels correctly.
First, pay attention to the haulm – when the potato is ripening, it acquires a yellow color and begins to fade little by little. Gardeners say that this is the most obvious sign of the need for cleaning. Secondly, the tuber can easily be separated from the haulm itself, and its skin is thick and without signs of peeling. And the third, additional, sign – the size of the tubers absolutely corresponds to the necessary parameters of the variety.
To dig up potatoes, you need to choose a favorable date on the lunar calendar and make sure that the day will be dry and clear. It is necessary to carefully dig up the bushes with forks, so as not to damage the tubers. Collect all “finds” in a bucket, then pour out on newspaper or dry asphalt to dry.
