What to feed zucchini for a good harvest – tips
It is easy to understand that every gardener wants to know what to feed zucchini, so that there was a good harvest, which will please with its quality until the frosts. In order for this to be so, it is important to give zucchini everything they need during the active period of fruiting (just in August).
First, provide abundant watering every other day (in the heat – every day) in the amount of one bucket for each bush. Secondly, make sure that the plants do not interfere with each other – if the planting is too dense, it should be thinned out, remove all the large leaves that can prevent the formation of new fruits.
As for feeding, in August zucchini need potassium, phosphorus, calcium, iodine and boron – it is such a set that guarantees the balance of the necessary vitamins and trace elements.
Ideal option than to feed zucchini folk remedies:
- At the beginning of the month – slurry in concentration with water 1:10 or a solution of fermented grass (barrel 2/3 filled with cut grass, add water, cover with a lid and leave in the sun to ferment for a week) in a concentration of 1:3.
- At the end of August, you need to conduct a second feeding – make a solution of wood ash (1 tbsp dilute in 1.l of water for each bush). Some gardeners recommend and boric acid (10 g dilute in 1 bucket of water), but if you use it after ash, you need to wait a week.
IMPORTANT: it is strictly forbidden to fertilize zucchini “chemistry” in August, otherwise it will remain in the vegetable, will get to your table, and then in the body, so it is better to do without folk safe recipes.
