Bricklayer Denis Bezerra, from the wonderful folks at WDC Painting and Effects, has shared a nifty little trick for banishing those pesky weeds without the hassle of a brushcutter! In a video posted on social media, Denis shows step-by-step how it’s done for anyone keen to give this unusual tool a whirl.

However, he warns that the item—which he designed himself—can only be used in areas with “loose weeds.” In cases where the ground is extremely dry and has “hard clay,” the item is not recommended.

A Bricklayer’s Simple Trick to Get Rid of Weeds

Initially, to create the equipment and put this simple trick into practice, the professional takes an old broom and some nails. After that, he points out that you need a screwdriver to drill holes in the tool.

He then explains that it will be used to make holes next to each other in the broom. According to him, the nails need to be larger than the base of the broom to ensure greater efficiency when weeding.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Gather Materials: Start with an old broom and some nails. Ensure the nails are larger than the broom’s base for maximum effectiveness.
  2. Drill Holes: Use a screwdriver to drill holes next to each other in the broom. This will serve as the base for the nails.
  3. Insert Nails: Place the nails in the drilled holes to create a makeshift weeder.

Once the nails are in place, your new equipment is ready to get rid of those pesky weeds.

By following these simple steps, you can create an effective tool to keep your garden weed-free without the need for a brushcutter. This innovative approach is ideal for areas with loose soil and offers an eco-friendly way to maintain your garden.
