Some strawberry growers believe it is beneficial to harvest strawberries after the fruit has set, but experts disagree.
We tell you how to look after your strawberries properly in July.
Is it worth mowing strawberries in July?
Hello there! I just wanted to suggest that instead of mowing, you might want to consider pruning the bushes that need it. The others should be left untouched, and I think that would be a great idea!
Use garden shears or pruning shears and only remove leaves that are several years old.
If the bush has been affected by a disease, it should be dug up and destroyed.
After pruning, dry leaves and shoots should be removed and the soil between the rows should be dug up.
Strawberries should also be fertilised with phosphorus-potassium fertiliser after pruning.
