It can easily and quickly become a solid protection against mosquitoes.

We all know that mosquitoes are a summertime nuisance, and 2024 is no exception. There’s a real mosquito invasion upon us! While many people struggle with different methods to keep the pesky insects at bay, there is a simple, inexpensive, and highly effective solution that can make a big difference.

That’s according to Expressen’s Leve&Bo magazine.

By combining something as simple as coffee and smoke, you can create an environment that mosquitoes don’t like.

Mosquitoes are attracted to heat, carbon dioxide and various smells, but there are certain scents that they absolutely do not like.

Coffee and smoke are among these, and by combining the two, you can create an effective barrier against mosquitoes. Also known as coffee incense, mosquito repellent is not only effective against mosquitoes but is also effective in keeping wasps at bay.

The process is simple. You can use both freshly ground coffee and dried coffee grounds. Coffee grounds are recommended, as they are a sustainable way to reuse leftovers from your morning coffee.

How to make it

To make coffee incense, you need finely ground coffee or dry coffee grounds, a plate, tin foil and matches.

If you want to use coffee grounds, first dry them completely in a dark area to preserve the aroma. Then cover the dish with aluminum foil and place a large pile of coffee or coffee grounds on top. Once the coffee is lit, the smoke will start to disperse and keep the mosquitoes away.

For humans, the smoke will just be a smell of coffee.

Overall, coffee roasting can be an effective weapon in the fight against mosquitoes during the summer months.
