How to Revive Batteries and Use Them Even When They’re Dead

Every household has a variety of electronic devices, whether it’s a TV remote, electronic toys, or children’s learning devices. The common factor among these items is that they all require batteries to function. However, when the batteries run out, we often throw them away, which is quite wasteful. In reality, you don’t need to discard them immediately after they are depleted.

Reviving Depleted Batteries

First, you can try removing the batteries from the device. If you have pliers on hand, use them to gently hold the batteries; if you don’t have pliers, try using a disposable chopstick. Follow this method and squeeze the battery five or six times for about 10 seconds. You will find that the power inside the battery has been restored. At this point, reinsert the batteries into the remote control, and it will power the remote to function normally again.

Using Partially Depleted Batteries

Typically, when a toy’s batteries are depleted, they can still be used in a remote control. While the battery may not have enough power to run a toy, it can still provide long-lasting power for a remote control, which consumes less electricity.

Alternative Uses for Used Batteries

Of course, batteries have a limited lifespan, and when they run out again, we should not rush to discard them. Used batteries are not useless, especially in the autumn and winter months, and they have several great uses:

  1. Touch Screen Stylus: Used batteries can be repurposed as a stylus for touch screens. In winter, we often struggle to smoothly operate our phones while wearing gloves. Simply use the negative end of a used battery to gently slide on the screen, allowing you to easily perform actions like page flipping, typing, and browsing.
  2. Eliminate Static Electricity: Used batteries can also help remove static electricity. In autumn and winter, static is especially severe. By lightly scratching clothing with the positive end of the battery a few times, you can effectively eliminate static and make your clothes more comfortable.
  3. Sharpening Scissors: Used batteries can be used to sharpen scissors. When scissors become dull, cut the edge of the scissors with an old battery several times, and the scissors will become sharp again.

By learning these tips, you can make the most of used batteries and avoid unnecessary waste. Additionally, these methods can help you save a lot on living expenses.
