The Coffee Filter Trick for Dusting: Have You Heard of It?

25views

Did you know that you can do much more than just make coffee with coffee filters? We’ll tell you an ingenious cleaning trick!

Do you know how coffee filters came to be? They were invented in the early 20th century to help us get a clear, aromatic cup of coffee. They’re often made of paper or fabric, with paper filters being the most common. But did you know you can also get porcelain filters that you can use again and again?

If you also drink filter coffee every morning, make sure you have a sufficient supply of filter bags. After all, nothing is more annoying than finding that you no longer have any coffee filters when you want to make coffee in the morning (I speak from experience).

But you can find out why you should always have coffee filters at home, even if you’re not a (filter) coffee drinker, here.

Ingenious cleaning trick with coffee filters

Even if you’re not a coffee drinker, you should keep a pack of coffee filters in your cupboard. Not only can you brew coffee with the paper bags, you can also use them as a dust cloth. Coffee filters are really good for dusting.

They are suitable for wiping sensitive surfaces as they do not scratch. You can also use the coffee filter to remove dust from screens and glasses.

It is particularly difficult to find a suitable dust cloth for screens, as most of them cause micro-scratches. Coffee filters, on the other hand, do not. They are also super cheap.

To dust, you can simply wipe the surface with the coffee filters to easily remove dust particles. If you want a slightly larger surface, you can cut the filter apart with scissors.

Incidentally, you don’t need to moisten the coffee filters. They attract the dust all by themselves. Coffee filters are biodegradable, just like coffee grounds.
