As you can see, tomatoes need regular nourishment to thrive. And rather than using expensive chemical fertilizers, there’s an equally effective solution that you can make yourself. During cultivation, tomatoes will particularly appreciate diluted nettle purin, as it provides nitrogen, which tomatoes particularly need. It also stimulates plant growth by promoting foliage development. It also contains essential trace elements and minerals that boost tomatoes’ resistance to disease and pests. Used regularly, nettle purin improves the overall health of tomato plants, promotes abundant flowering and contributes to the production of higher-quality fruit.

To prepare your homemade nettle purin, simply coarsely chop 500g of fresh nettles or 50g of dried nettles and place them in a basin with 5 liters of water. Leave the mixture to macerate for ten days, stirring occasionally. When the liquid turns dark and gives off a strong odor, your liquid manure is ready. Strain the mixture to remove any residues, and store the liquid in plastic or glass bottles.
